Personal

Lazy Eye Notes

The name of this chapter relates to a personal condition I have, I can’t focus with my right eye. I have amblyopia, commonly known as lazy eye. Very lazy indeed, it even wakes up after the other one.

Being honest, this might just be a set of photographs that I take when I’m not photographing architecture and interior design. This notes are not defined by any aesthetic appearance, they are just concepts that pop up when I have freedom to wonder around. I suppose it looks to voice ideas that have something to do with architecture or at least space, but both concepts are  wide enough to fit anywhere.

I work on this as a personal space to find new boundaries for the capacity to imagine, and the best way I know is not to expect something specific. That is why some of them end up being counterpositions, other are anaphoras that work by color, a few have a title that bring a concept to the photograph… but this might have changed by the time you look at them. After some time shooting, when I feel I have a bunch of interesting photographs I want to look at, I sit down for a while and try to find a narrative through them.

So it’s more an improvisation that in the beginning has no other intention than having fun and bringing new ideas and in the end tries to organize in notes all the information that has been documented. It might be an aim to create a volume of notes, but that is something I leave for the time to say, for the moment I prefer to explore. I hope you find you time here fun too.

I immediately stoped facing the showcase.

My pale face reflected in a glassed mirror,
I didn't know what to say.

Beauty is as fast as a thunder,
and you might never see it again.
